Publication and Author Instructions [出版和作者的说明]

For the past several years, SOFE authors have had the option of submitting their work for publication in a Special Issue of IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science (TPS). The opportunity to publish in this peer-reviewed journal is clearly valued by SOFE participants, as the number of submissions and the size of the Special Issue has steadily grown. The SOFE-2017 Conference Committee wishes to encourage this trend.

With the 2017 SOFE, there will be no formal publication of manuscripts in conference proceedings, only through submission to TPS (though there is no requirement to do so.)

Authors choosing to submit their manuscript to TPS must also agree to peer review at least two papers in order to support an expeditious review process and timely publication of the Special Issue. The editorial process will be managed by the Special Issue Guest Editor, Dr. Elizabeth Surrey.

In order to to make a record of the conference available to all registered participants, all authors will be required to submit a PDF file of their presentation material (slides or posters) to the conference. A compilation of the presentation material will be made available after the conference, via password-protected download, to all registered participants. A printed Book of Abstracts will be issued at the conference to all registered participants.

Presenter instructions:

Oral presenters: Visit the conference IT desk at least one session before your talk to load your presentation files (in PDF and, if desired, in PPT) onto the conference computer network.

Poster presenters: Poster dimensions 1.2m x 0.96m (height x width), i.e. portrait orientation. Visit the conference IT desk no later than the last day of the conference to load your poster file (in PDF) onto the conference computer network.

In summary, the instructions to authors are as follows:

  • You must submit a PDF file of your presentation material (slides or poster) by the last day of the conference, 8 June 2017.
  • You may submit a manuscript of your work for publication in a Special Issue of IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science (TPS). Acceptance for publication will depend on successful peer review and final decision by the Guest Editor.
  • If you choose to submit to TPS, you must agree to peer review at least two papers.
